West Tennessee School Rallies Around Student With Cerebral Palsy
Students Raise Money For Student's Family
(Somerville, TN 3/18/2011) Inside the Central Elementary School gym in Fayette County, an outpouring of love and a surprise celebration for a very special student, Charvis Brewer, and his mom, Colissa.
Colissa Brewer said she and her son had no idea what was being planned.
Brewer said, "I had no earthly idea. They told me to be here at 12 o'clock and I got here and they got all these kids dressing green."
The pep rally, complete with cheerleaders, several cakes and a slideshow are for Charvis. He's the young man in the wheelchair with the big smile surrounded by classmates and teachers.
Brewer said, "As you can see, Charvis can't walk. He has Cerebral Palsy, but he can do a lot of other stuff."
