Sleep interruptions last longer for women

A recent study has found that women are two and a half times as likely to have their sleep interrupted due to parental and domestic duties as compared to men. University of Michigan researchers found that once women awaken, they spend up to 44 minutes staying up doing chores and parenting as compared to 30 minutes of sleep interruption with men.
The researchers also found that men get up usually to check on whether doors are locked around the house, while elderly people usually wake up to go to the comfort room. Women, meanwhile, usually wake up to take care of children. Their midnight activities include physical and medical care as well as feeding.
