Program aims to break down barriers

PRUE McCarthy was born with cerebral palsy and is taking the message “Just Like You” to schools in the area this year with the help of funding from Cadia Valley Operations.
But she needs help from people who also have a disability to share positive messages with school students.
“Our program needs a presenter with a disability to work with an able-bodied presenter so we can try to get through to the children and help them understand that someone living with a disability is in many ways just like anyone else,” Ms McCarthy said.
