The group was started on January 1, 2009 by Dr. Rotenberg. "At the time, I realized that there were many professionals interested in sleep medicine. The problem was that these discussion areas were limited to specific professional groups. Physicians talk to physicians. Technologists talk to technologists. It was time for people to start a cross disciplinary discussion." Dr. Rotenberg manages the group.
The group is undergoing remarkable growth in 2011, adding 22 members a week.
The group has international membership and spans different industries. Just over one third are in health care delivery, and 20% work in the medical device industry. But the group also includes entrepreneurs, consultants, and educators.
It is very gratifying to see that this forum has been popular. I look forward to continued growth.
